Long Summary

In this episode, we explore the intersection of artificial intelligence and gaming as we dive into an AI-driven Minecraft experience. I share my enthusiasm for AI, envisioning a future where it can facilitate ongoing conversations even beyond our mortality. My co-host, Izzy, approaches the subject with skepticism, expressing a strong dislike for AI technologies. This playful contrast sets the stage for our gaming adventure, where we venture into an innovative Minecraft variant designed to operate with AI-generated environments.

Izzy and I navigate through the virtual landscape filled with whimsical and glitchy encounters. Our initial attempts to interact with the game prompt amusing exchanges about the peculiarities of AI-generated gameplay—especially regarding "immortal sheep" that defy the damage mechanics of the game. We discuss the capabilities of the AI to shape environments in real-time while encountering some bizarre interpretations of the game’s usual mechanics. The conversation meanders through the challenges of controlling the game and the nuances of how AI perceives visual elements, leading to humorous observations about our virtual experience.

Throughout the episode, we tackle the experience of object permanence within this Minecraft world, where things only exist as long as we are looking at them. This introspective dialogue leads us to delve into abstract thoughts on perception and reality, drawing parallels between lucid dreaming and AI’s rendering of environments. Izzy shares evocative theories about consciousness and the nuances of our subconscious, igniting a broader discussion about the nature of dreams and the human experience compared to AI.

As the gaming session progresses, we encounter the inherent limitations of AI-driven gameplay, from brief lag periods to surreal landscapes reminiscent of a lucid dream gone awry. The humor continues as we get lost in the bizarre visuals and glitches emerging from the AI's design, contrasting it to our expectations of a polished gaming experience. I find joy in the randomness and unpredictability that AI introduces into the game, while Izzy remains critical, voicing concerns about the future implications of increasingly sophisticated AI technologies.

By the end of the episode, we reflect on our gaming adventure, sharing thoughts on the potential of AI in gaming and how this experimental approach can evolve in the coming years. Despite our differing views on AI, our exploration in this Minecraft AI venture serves as a compelling case study in the hybridization of technology and play, prompting questions about creativity, control, and the ever-blurring lines between human and machine interaction in virtual spaces. Through our humorous exchanges and shared observations, we invite listeners to engage with these ideas and envision their implications amid a rapidly advancing technological landscape.

Stef

[0:00] Okay so we are gonna try ai minecraft now we both have a different relationship to ai i.

[0:07] Hate AI, Love Minecraft

Izzy

[0:07] Hate ai with a burning passion

Stef

[0:09] I love ai because i'm right don't get you a little closer i'm like so uh yeah i like ai because i'm gonna need a place to upload and continue to have conversations with you when i'm dead oh that's that's fun that's fun right yeah but.

Izzy

[0:22] The thing is since i don't like Like I probably won't use it.

Stef

[0:26] Right.

Izzy

[0:27] So that's a small problem.

Stef

[0:29] Well, no, it's not that you'll have a choice. It'll be in a drone that will follow you around.

Izzy

[0:33] I have water. I could like mist it like I would with a cat.

Stef

[0:36] Oh, that would work.

Izzy

[0:38] Bad drone, bad drone.

Stef

[0:39] Bad drone. So we're going to try, we've done a Minecraft thing or two before, but we're going to try this. Now, so.

Izzy

[0:48] I don't understand on the preview how they got it to work for more than like a second in order to film that.

Stef

[0:53] It looks magnificent. So start first of its kind video model again engine trained by Okay.

Izzy

[1:01] So you'll watch this but not the intro to a show or like a movie.

Stef

[1:06] We'll shape the environment around you in real time. That's like when I'm climbing the stairs and I've had a big dinner. Every step.

Izzy

[1:12] He goes like see how this you like Yeah.

Stef

[1:16] He goes like yeah so there's shakes the whole table is the i know that one of the most joyful things in your life is watching someone else watching someone else control the the the computer all right so uh what do we want to try village outpost village outpost glitches the most, Powered by Crusoe.

Izzy

[1:40] See, it works until you start.

Stef

[1:43] Oh, God. It's so blocky. Let me just see if I can get to the... Move the mic a little bit here. Okay, so this is the game.

Izzy

[1:59] You should break the sugar cane.

Stef

[2:01] Oh, my God.

Izzy

[2:03] Wait, turn the sensitivity up.

Stef

[2:05] Oh, you mean on Windows? here continue is that better yes.

Izzy

[2:11] You don't have to

Stef

[2:12] Now do you think that i should control this or should you yeah i'll move i'll move out the way no it's.

Izzy

[2:17] Okay i'll just go like

Stef

[2:18] This no because you need all the keys right i don't all right so what is that sheep that's blobs what is he is he eating it's.

Izzy

[2:31] Not really taking damage it's just turning into

Stef

[2:33] Immortal sheep it's like some.

Izzy

[2:35] It's a biblically accurate sheep.

Stef

[2:37] Why? Why is that biblically accurate?

Izzy

[2:39] You know those biblically accurate angels?

Stef

[2:42] Uh, vaguely.

Izzy

[2:44] Never mind. Gen Z humor.

Stef

[2:45] Okay.

Izzy

[2:47] Will this break? Ooh! I'm surprised.

Stef

[2:50] That's so cool.

Izzy

[2:52] All right, let's do a fun little thing to try and break it.

Stef

[2:55] Okay.

Izzy

[2:56] Why is that floating? So we look up.

Stef

[3:00] Look up.

Izzy

[3:01] What biome do you think it'll be when we look down?

Stef

[3:03] Uh Deseret, Wait, we've moved.

Izzy

[3:10] Oh, what is this?

Stef

[3:11] Are we floating? What is that mutant tree, tumor tree?

Izzy

[3:14] We are in deep.

Stef

[3:15] What the? Ah! Oh, so it doesn't know that we're high until... So you have to keep everything in sight in order for it to be generated, right?

Izzy

[3:24] What is this?

Stef

[3:25] Okay, can we do anything about this?

Izzy

[3:27] No.

Stef

[3:28] Okay, kill zombie.

Izzy

[3:29] You know what happened in the car today? So we're driving, and we've been talking about doing this for a couple days. Yeah. And he's like, can we get a mod for it?

Stef

[3:38] A mod yeah hang on it's an ai web so that's move 360 oh space is jump control is run i don't see the mod one because.

Izzy

[3:48] You know it runs so well as why did the sheep turn

Stef

[3:52] Is he you know how this looks blurry to you this is how regular minecraft looks to my eyes you should get glasses wait did we move the biome again keeps.

Izzy

[4:01] Disappearing this feels like some weird dream like you know when We have dreams and just stuff doesn't even make sense.

Stef

[4:07] No, my dreams are always perfectly logical and I'm right. Wait, to the right. Is that a zombie?

Izzy

[4:12] You have one where you were like Taylor Swift or something.

Stef

[4:15] Maybe.

Izzy

[4:17] There's no zombie daytime.

Stef

[4:18] Okay. Okay. So here it says, so you got the control to run, right? So we could build something, right? Do you want to go and get some wood? What the heck is control? Don't make me explain Minecraft to you. That might be.

Izzy

[4:29] We're not going to get any wood. The inventory items change. We already have some right now.

Stef

[4:34] Oh, should we zoom in a bit? I think we can zoom in a bit.

Izzy

[4:38] No, you can zoom out, though.

Stef

[4:40] No, hang on. Let me take the mouse for a sec.

Izzy

[4:43] I think we can.

Stef

[4:45] Oh, no. Hang on. I wonder if we zoom. Whoa, that is whiplash. All right, hang on. But it does get rid of the controls. Is that helpful for you?

Izzy

[4:55] No, it's not actually.

Stef

[4:56] Okay, sorry. Go ahead.

Izzy

[4:57] Continue.

Stef

[5:00] Don't ever look up. We lose all of the ground, right?

Izzy

[5:03] Oh, what in the world?

Stef

[5:04] What the heck?

Izzy

[5:05] Why are we in a village? We're making so much... Excuse me? Making so much progress.

Stef

[5:09] Okay, so get some...

Izzy

[5:10] We have wood.

Stef

[5:11] So there's no... The only object permanence is when you are looking at things, right? Pretty much. So I think every kid has this idea, like, are things still there when I look away? It's a place to stare.

Izzy

[5:23] What? I built a whole village.

Stef

[5:25] What?

Izzy

[5:25] Yeah.

Stef

[5:26] Now this is way more efficient than Minecraft. That would have taken me at least 30 to 40 seconds. Like in real Minecraft? Yeah. Oh, you've got good inventory too.

Izzy

[5:35] Oh, it's lagging so bad. Wait. I'm moving, but it's not like.

Stef

[5:41] All right. Hang on. Should we try refreshing the website? Wait, try continue? Oh, maybe they're out of processing. Oh, please refresh the page. All right. This is so refreshing. Okay, let's try a different biome.

Izzy

[5:55] Oh, it's because it's got really full.

Stef

[5:57] Oh, because everyone knows what we're doing. Okay, not desert. Coastline. Rugged coastline.

Izzy

[6:04] We're waiting for turn on everyone.

Stef

[6:06] Oh, really? Yeah. That's all right. So, I mean.

Izzy

[6:08] We can do this one, though.

Stef

[6:10] Does this help you to really enjoy AI?

Izzy

[6:14] No, because it's like, it's just going to get better from here. What is this cactus?

Stef

[6:20] Oh, that is so hard.

Izzy

[6:21] Isn't it? It's round.

Stef

[6:23] Cactus blob.

Izzy

[6:26] See, spamming, I'm telling you guys, spamming just gets you in. Don't, it hurts. I was clicking it like crazy.

Stef

[6:31] Okay, this looks like it has a whole lot more object permanence.

Izzy

[6:35] We literally already changed.

Stef

[6:38] Oh, did we keep our inventory?

Izzy

[6:39] No, it just generates an inventory based off of your surroundings.

Stef

[6:42] Oh, okay.

Izzy

[6:43] So if we look up.

Stef

[6:45] Yeah.

Izzy

[6:46] Give it a second. Okay.

Stef

[6:50] Do that thing. Oh, what the, is that a bridge?

Izzy

[6:52] The Great Wall. Why would, why are these stone slabs?

Stef

[6:57] You know what? Find the disco key so we can disco dance on the lit up floor. Excellent.

Izzy

[7:04] Why is it changing? Why is it wool?

Stef

[7:07] Ah, this really is kind of bizarre, right?

Izzy

[7:09] It's a really pretty biome though. It is. Like out of the mountains. What even is this? Is this gravel?

Stef

[7:14] It's stone. This is too much life without glasses. Now, do that thing where you built Where you built an entire village With three blocks of the stair We.

Izzy

[7:22] Only have dirt

Stef

[7:24] Okay, if you could get something other than dirt That would be excellent Sorry.

Izzy

[7:29] I have all my controls different When I play, I have like Ah! Yeah, let's go! I gotta build it! I'm so cool, I'm so good Is that a shipwreck?

Stef

[7:40] What? Where?

Izzy

[7:41] This Oh, this is so trippy It

Stef

[7:45] Would be great Oh, dungeon. Can we find a dungeon to go into?

Izzy

[7:48] A dungeon?

Stef

[7:49] A cave. We don't have... Are those pumpkins? Yeah. Oh, lights!

Izzy

[7:54] What is this? Oak wood? No, it's dirt. It's dirt. It keeps changing. Oh, crafting table.

Stef

[8:00] Crafty.

Izzy

[8:01] Oh, goodness. You can... Oh, guys. What? Do you think this makes more sense than whatever they were trying to craft in the Minecraft movie trailer?

Stef

[8:10] Yes. Why does it say craft your little walls? It's, I'm having a strong, like at the top here, it says craft.

Izzy

[8:17] Craft lightning. Can I take this? Is that a bucket? Guys, this is literally what the Minecraft movie looks like. Come on. Stop. Stop.

Stef

[8:29] What are you doing?

Izzy

[8:30] Trying to put it in the inventory.

Stef

[8:31] Okay.

Izzy

[8:33] Stop. Okay. Wait, let me out. Let me out. How do you get back?

Stef

[8:39] Escape? No.

Izzy

[8:40] Wait.

Stef

[8:43] There we go.

Izzy

[8:44] Oh, well, where are we? Is that a bed? Why is this old water? Old water, it's back! Old Minecraft water. Oh, crap.

Stef

[8:53] I don't know where we are. We're swimming. I'm losing a little bit of track of where we're going.

Izzy

[8:57] I think so is the game, actually.

Stef

[9:00] Drug trip 101.

Izzy

[9:01] Let's look at the water for a bit and see where we end up.

Stef

[9:04] Are you floating down at the moment?

Izzy

[9:06] Apparently I'm still above water.

Stef

[9:08] Ooh. What the? This must be what it's like to be on drugs. Do you agree? It'd be cool. Yeah. Drugs are not cool. Oh, what is that?

Izzy

[9:20] It's trying to form a tree.

Stef

[9:25] Blizzard of cocaine.

Izzy

[9:28] Fun. Love those good old days.

Stef

[9:31] What did I hear cocaine referred to as the other day? Booger sugar.

Izzy

[9:34] I kind of like that. I think official petition to rename it. This looks kind of like the mountains we were at earlier. I think it's trying really hard, but I don't think it's working. Let's do whiplash.

Stef

[9:43] I don't know that you've built much, though.

Izzy

[9:47] Okay. I will build. With the wrong button, apparently. Please. Wait, did it actually keep track of the inventory?

Stef

[9:59] Uh, yeah.

Izzy

[10:00] Looks like it did. Boing. They should have footprints in Minecraft.

Stef

[10:06] This is all wedding cake layers. It's carrot cake with icing on top, and I'm going to eat the screen. Snowy grass. That is a significant number of blocks it's rendering. Will we take damage? No, because it has to allow you to fall when you look up at the sky and then end up reemerging.

Izzy

[10:22] Where should we end up?

Stef

[10:24] Let's go.

Izzy

[10:25] I think it's going to generate something based off of the inventory. Yeah?

Stef

[10:28] Maybe a shoreline. Maybe green stuff.

Izzy

[10:31] Fence. That's a really weird.

Stef

[10:34] All right. Two uses of the word fence. Go.

Izzy

[10:38] Fencing. and fence.

Stef

[10:40] And what else?

Izzy

[10:41] Are we enclosed?

Stef

[10:43] What? When you sell stolen goods, you take it to a fence.

Izzy

[10:48] And like, okay. You'd know a lot about that, wouldn't you? Sunflower.

Stef

[10:53] Creeper.

Izzy

[10:54] Sorry. That is not a creeper.

Stef

[10:55] Now, does it do mobs?

Izzy

[10:57] Yeah, there was, they usually, excuse me? Oh, it's crashed so bad.

Stef

[11:05] Refresh. It says here, kill a zombie.

Izzy

[11:09] Where?

Stef

[11:10] It says contest.

Izzy

[11:13] I think they're, yeah, the discord thing.

Stef

[11:14] Punch the ender, oh, we can actually get to an ender dragon?

Izzy

[11:17] Yeah, I've seen people on YouTube beat the game. It's so, you have to get really lucky with spawns and stuff a lot of the time.

Stef

[11:27] Oh, you can upload a screenshot. Oh, so you take a picture of your Minecraft and it uploads, it tries to recreate that, right?

Izzy

[11:32] Yeah, I think you do it, like you screenshot the end and upload it and beat the game that way. Right, guys, we're going to, oh, this one, no, we just did this. We're going to spam and we're going to see that it works. Don't let me down right now, please.

Stef

[11:46] You know, spamming was really tough before Windows because your keyboard buffer and eventually your computer would just scream at you because the keyboard buffer is when it takes either mouse or keyboard and stores it until it can use it. And it used to just scream at you after a while if that got full.

Izzy

[12:02] The spam isn't working with that one.

Stef

[12:05] Yeah, maybe the spamming doesn't work in technical. Yeah. Now, because earlier when we were looking into this to start, it was like, oh, easy, right?

Izzy

[12:15] I know, I guess I got really busy.

Stef

[12:17] But why would it do that just when we start? That's just monstrous. Oh, yeah. Beyond words.

Izzy

[12:21] He doesn't take things personally.

Stef

[12:23] I take this personally. You know what I like? I like this is like the advertisement because the screenshots, I wonder if it's better if it's not busy or like if it renders better because these screenshots look really nice, right?

Izzy

[12:37] Well, I think when you first open up or when they have it in testing, I assume they get the very, very best.

Stef

[12:42] Yeah, yeah. Because I assume that they're using a bunch of graphics. Oh, we're not getting any sound. Is it muted at the moment? Like if you look at the up, is that muted? Yeah. Can you unmute it?

[12:54] Gameplay Limitations and Experiences

Stef

[12:55] there we go.

Izzy

[13:00] I guess we'll have to trim this part

Stef

[13:02] No because we're still gripping and enjoyable to listen to even if we're just looking and waiting.

Izzy

[13:17] Oh, I think we only get 15 minutes of playtime.

Stef

[13:19] Is that right? Oh, please refresh. Please refresh. Wait. Okay, come on. How could you possibly beat the game? It's your turn. How could you possibly beat the game in 15 minutes?

Izzy

[13:33] People's speedruns are down to like a few minutes.

Stef

[13:34] Okay, do it. You have 15 minutes.

Izzy

[13:37] You have to upload the...

Stef

[13:38] No, no, like from here.

Izzy

[13:40] No, you have to upload a screenshot of the end.

Stef

[13:42] Oh, really? From what I've seen. Oh, okay, okay. All right, so what can we do here? I want to see mob Mob Does it tell you what time of day it is?

Izzy

[13:52] Well it's daytime

Stef

[13:53] No sorry what it meant is do we know when night time might be coming?

Izzy

[13:56] We'll see it in the sun Okay I've never seen it at night time in one of these Okay we've seen some mobs before I think that was a villager So was that Not anymore Imagine being a villager in this and just having Your entire like sense of self Completely destroyed and turned into a sunflower It's a

Stef

[14:15] Really freaky thing to think that when you don't look at something, it totally changes. I mean, this is just like crazy people have this feeling like there's no object permanence. Like, I don't know where my house is because it keeps moving. And this is kind of like the recreation of bad vision, unstable mindset, and no object permanence madness.

Izzy

[14:36] I saw some really interesting theories. so you know when you're like people who can lucid dream a popular way or popular thing they do in dreams is to like i'm completely geeking out or nerding out on this one but i'll just say it because it was a quick a cool theory and they'll look at their hands when they're trying to like stabilize like lucid dreams they don't wake up yeah or tell if they are dreaming yeah and it's called like a reality check and usually your brain if you're in a dream will give you only like three fingers or six fingers and they wouldn't do the hands properly. Okay. And, oh my gosh, what was the other thing? I genuinely don't remember. There was like a whole bunch of things.

Stef

[15:13] How to help yourself lose a dream, you mean?

Izzy

[15:15] Yeah, pretty much. And it was going into like how your brain does stuff. And again, the big one was with the hands. But I can think if I watch one of these videos, I'll remember like the five or six other ones that similarities work. But then I was thinking or I saw a theory video just like, where the heck are we? Bro, this is like me walking in like a lawn because I'm short. um but this is like it was a whole thing about like okay our brain renders things similarly to ai what if we're just really advanced ai obviously i don't know that's clever yeah yeah i thought that was like a super i love watching theories like that coming up with theories like that well because

Stef

[15:53] Philosophically you'd have to find a way to disprove that right because it's an interesting.

Izzy

[15:56] Idea yeah because like it's based off of just when you are more in touch with your subconscious yeah yeah how it kind of quote-unquote renders things oh yeah has some really similarity has some really strong similarities to how ai is rendering things right now that's really another one was looking in the mirror yeah something that ai really struggles with is mirrors um if you look at oh it's getting dark i know if you look at like image generators and try and get someone to stare in a mirror it won't it

Stef

[16:22] Doesn't do the.

Izzy

[16:23] Reflection right to do the reflection well right another thing in dreams is looking in a mirror you usually get a really distorted sense of self oh interesting like your face is all screwed up and stuff oh are

Stef

[16:33] We out are we done it's oh it says we've.

Izzy

[16:35] Got 12 minutes left but we can restart anyways that was that was i i kind of was thinking of that because i saw the hands thing or i heard like oh a reality check is like look at your hands yeah and then the mirrors thing saying like don't look at mirrors because they're they're scary and stuff right right and i was thinking that'd be a crazy theory so i looked it up and i saw a whole bunch of theory videos on that so it was cool but yeah i got really into lucid dreaming like a year ago now when

Stef

[16:58] Did you last lucid dream.

[16:59] Exploring Lucid Dreaming and AI

Izzy

[16:59] I always had it when i was younger got a refresher yeah if i was scared in a dream i could always wake myself up right i don't know why it wasn't like when i was in the dream i wasn't necessarily lucid because i wasn't like i can i wasn't making conscious decisions but if it was a nightmare or if the dream turned into a nightmare you could i could i would get scared and i'd be like that's fine i'm waking up yeah All you have to do is just open your eyes really hard and you'll wake up that at least not you will. But that's what happened to me. Oh, this is some sort of chicken.

Stef

[17:32] Oh, finally, we've achieved AI poultry. Oh, it's a chicken, right?

Izzy

[17:40] It doesn't want to take damage either. Excuse me?

Stef

[17:43] It's just good. It's Joe. Is it sinking into the...

Izzy

[17:47] That looks like a piglin head. A mushroom. Okay, we're going to move on.

Stef

[17:52] Ah!

Izzy

[17:54] What?

Stef

[17:55] Are you wedged down? Ah! Why is it turning? You can't turn in Minecraft. Oh, now you're still... What the... Oh, my gosh. I think it's been probably 30 years since my last lucid dream. I do miss them. And I find it able... I feel when I'm in a bad dream, the way that I wake up is I imagine that I'm desperately swimming to the surface of water and I feel like I burst up out of the dream.

Izzy

[18:18] That's kind of cool though.

Stef

[18:19] But it's funny, yeah, because you're right. It's funny to think that we have a whole rendering engine in our brain that we use every night for dreaming.

Izzy

[18:25] Yeah. But anyways, you were saying about my last lucid dream. I've always had that. It's faded away a little bit, but when I was getting into lucid dreaming, it took a couple weeks and then i was able to get like little snippets where i was very clearly like i'm in a dream right but i always felt myself waking up if i ever tried to do anything right um and i think that's because like what the whoa i think that i think it's because i got excited yeah and i immediately was like the first thing i thought everyone says like it's easy to just try and fly that's like a really simple thing you can do in a dream right are we flying

Stef

[19:00] We are Elytra-ing what the.

Izzy

[19:02] We just keep getting further from the

Stef

[19:05] What is that.

Izzy

[19:06] Why are we upside down are we upside down we are

Stef

[19:11] Whoa. Whoa. Did we die and we're now in heaven?

Izzy

[19:15] No, we're in Merc.

Stef

[19:17] Oh. What is happening?

Izzy

[19:20] Are we in the Badlands?

Stef

[19:22] That is pretty wild. We are.

Izzy

[19:24] Wait.

Stef

[19:27] Ah, now we're on Mars with an Aztec pyramid. Cool. Gold. No, lava. Lava. Oh, it's owing us? Yes, it is.

Izzy

[19:35] Wait, our health is actually going down.

Stef

[19:37] Tick, tick, tick, tick, tick. Oh, should we get our sound? Can we get our sound back? You have to hear this game, yeah.

Izzy

[19:44] Oh, it's so bad. Are we swimming?

Stef

[19:48] I haven't seen anything genuinely underwater.

Izzy

[19:52] It doesn't really let you go underwater. I tried earlier. Oh, yeah.

Stef

[19:56] Okay, I don't understand how you can play this game, though. You can't.

Izzy

[20:00] That's the point.

Stef

[20:00] Well, some people you said have finished it, but not us. I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding.

Izzy

[20:06] I'm going to just pretend you listen. That's all I'm going to do.

Stef

[20:09] In general, that's a good idea. No, that's what mom does. What is that thing?

Izzy

[20:13] Cube.

Stef

[20:14] Everything's a cube. Oh, it's tall and slender. Like Ariana Grande, but without the anorexia.

Izzy

[20:20] I don't think. I don't know. I'm trying really. Is there a whole parallel dimension?

Stef

[20:30] Ah! Okay, this is really. Oh, you see? Oh, my gosh.

Izzy

[20:34] I mined my way into some village. Dude, living in this would be like, oh, it's lagged.

Stef

[20:40] Is it done it's lagged all right let's do one more refresh okay do you want to do it no no go ahead i i yeah i'm not okay so what else have we now e you've got inventory right oh god, uh you gotta refresh up here yeah, What have we not tried? But it's funny because they ask you to choose your biome and then just you look up and you get everything.

Izzy

[21:07] Yeah, it doesn't even matter.

Stef

[21:08] Just get random. Just if you don't like your biome, look up, look down. All right.

Izzy

[21:14] Okay. It was so good for a second. I was like, is this the game? All right, let's try. That's a weird tree.

Stef

[21:22] Yeah, because it's only supposed to have one cube for the trunk, right?

Izzy

[21:25] I've got an axe. No, not a wooden moose.

Stef

[21:27] Wooden blah, blah.

Izzy

[21:28] Wooden moose. No, no. I hit. Number two. Please.

Stef

[21:35] Now, it's pretty wild to think, though, that...

Izzy

[21:37] No.

Stef

[21:38] Ah. It's pretty wild to think that AI can play this game, in a sense, just by looking at people. Like, I guess they have hundreds of hours of videos of people just playing the game, right?

Izzy

[21:51] Oh, yeah. Please.

Stef

[21:56] Oh, Darkness Arises.

Izzy

[21:58] No, we'll go to Spruce. I don't like Acacia. I love the acacia tree, but only in the oak barn. Bro.

Stef

[22:05] That's a lot of rendering too.

Izzy

[22:07] Guys, I was in a Minecraft world the other day. I play hardcore every now and then. I suck at it. I'm not even going to lie.

Stef

[22:12] Is this straw?

Izzy

[22:13] Hey, yeah. Hey, okay, sorry. Whatever, same thing. But I was playing one. I found a village with two blacksmiths, number one, and I think like 16 obsidian in both the chests total. Yeah, yeah. And I was just thinking, wow, if I was doing a speed run, that'd be a pretty epic world. Because you could get to the end, or sorry, the nether so, so quickly, with 16 obsidian.

Stef

[22:37] Anyways, what is this? Oh, is this ice?

Izzy

[22:40] Dude, I don't even know. Ship? Float.

Stef

[22:46] Oh, speckledoom.

Izzy

[22:49] Oh, it's struggling. What is this?

Stef

[22:52] What is it supposed to be, do you think? Desert. Oh, okay, okay.

Izzy

[22:57] It's so bad. Genuinely, though, this is like the AI images. They started off horrible. Yeah, yeah. And now they're pretty near convincing, especially the videos. Yes. So you give it like...

Stef

[23:09] Did I show you that video of the Will Smith eating pasta and like how it was a year ago and now?

Izzy

[23:15] Yeah, give this like honestly even five months. I think it'll be massively improved.

Stef

[23:19] Well, I'd be interesting to see if the AI... I think that the memory requirements for holding a Minecraft world for thousands of players would just be insane. Yeah. but it is really wild that they i and assume i assume this is with no programming they just trained ai on mine like hundreds or thousands of hours of minecraft footage and it figured it out like that's pretty wild i would love.

Izzy

[23:39] To try this at like three in the morning when excuse me when there's like no one else playing i feel

Stef

[23:45] Like it would render better a lot better yeah i assume so yeah what is this i've if we can get into caves that's the last thing i would like to see but i I don't know that we can, right?

Izzy

[23:58] The problem is we get into one and it just like, okay, maybe over here, maybe over here.

Stef

[24:04] Just keep, whatever you can do, keep it in sight.

Izzy

[24:09] Is that a burning?

Stef

[24:11] I thought that was fire.

Izzy

[24:14] Why are there so?

Stef

[24:15] Oh. Oh.

Izzy

[24:16] I get so, like in this one, imagine how creepy it would be, right? Oh, is that iron? You're like the only sentient being. Yeah. And then you find another crafting table. like that's just what oh yeah yeah yeah because like we are like okay what the heck oh

Stef

[24:30] What's that here oh it's gone see the problem is the moment you scroll past i'll swing around past something cool it's gone.

Izzy

[24:37] Cave please cave cave if

Stef

[24:40] You dig down.

Izzy

[24:41] No if you dig down you just go into the abyss all right let's just keep going down wait okay fine i'll dig Please. Come on. No.

Stef

[25:06] Now, if you look up, are we underground? No, it doesn't know, right?

Izzy

[25:09] Okay, let's try again. Let's try again. We're going to go to a place that's dark. Why are we up here? We go down. Stay.

Stef

[25:23] If you dig into a wall, do you get into some place? oh you're just digging down not.

Izzy

[25:28] Even moving i'm not moving my hand is off the keyboard

Stef

[25:34] Oh come on get us underground i like the dancing the dancing rocks are cool, like that oh like the boogie boogie and i think oh that's coal is that coal Nah, This is like an eye test of sanity.

Izzy

[25:55] Oh yeah that makes sense I don't think we're getting it Oh

Stef

[26:02] I feel like we're in some sort of deranged LSD porridge.

Izzy

[26:05] I like those Had that for breakfast yesterday Oh it's lagged

Stef

[26:11] Is that enough?

Izzy

[26:12] I think so I think I'm sufficiently confused

Stef

[26:16] Yes very interesting it's got potential and i think it's really neat that they put it out to the public yeah.

[26:21] Final Thoughts and Community Engagement

Izzy

[26:21] It's definitely cool

Stef

[26:22] All right let us know what you think and if you have different experiences explode.

Izzy

[26:25] A creeper me on the

Stef

[26:26] Side so this contest happening in our discord uh so i know but.

Izzy

[26:31] You win a creeper

Stef

[26:33] Yeah i.

Izzy

[26:34] Don't know i guess make it explode i don't know whatever

Stef

[26:37] All right thanks everyone let us know if post some other videos if you've seen something cool in this in this thing bye.
