Long Summary

In this episode, we delve into the troubling recent events surrounding Sean Combs, also known by various monikers such as Puff Daddy, P. Diddy, and Diddy. On September 16, 2023, Combs was arrested and faced serious charges, including racketeering, conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation for prostitution. This indictment follows a storm of civil lawsuits initiated by multiple women who have accused him of a years-long scheme of sexual abuse and exploitation, with allegations dating back to the early 2000s.

We examine the extensive accusations against Combs, which reveal a disturbing pattern of verbal, emotional, and physical abuse. The indictment outlines how he allegedly manipulated and coerced women associated with him into participating in orchestrated sexual encounters, often involving male sex workers. The evidence highlights that Combs utilized his substantial influence and financial power within the music industry to control the lives of these women while employing intimidation and violence to maintain his facade of respectability and conceal his actions.

While the legal principle of "innocent until proven guilty" holds, we can't overlook the weight of the evidence presented, particularly in light of graphic video footage that purportedly shows Combs engaging in violent behavior towards women. The timeline of these allegations prompts pressing questions about the silence surrounding this case over the years, especially considering the high-profile nature of Combs and the countless rumors that have swirled around him since the early days of his career.

The underlying societal dynamics around celebrities and their perceived invulnerability are explored in this discussion. There's a palpable frustration with the hypocrisy exhibited by those who publicly condemn wrongdoing yet have turned a blind eye to Combs' history, which has included allegations of violent behavior captured on video, with little subsequent public outcry. Why has this man remained celebrated and accepted in elite circles while others face severe ostracization for far less?

We also challenge the feminist movement's response—or lack thereof—to these allegations, questioning the selective outrage that seems to prioritize certain narratives over others. In light of the heinous nature of the accusations against Combs and the implications of the alleged actions carried out under the guise of his powerful persona, we confront the uncomfortable truths about prominence, privilege, and the grave inequalities within society.

Amidst this intricate web of allegations lies a broader commentary on the culture of silence, complicity, and the mechanisms of power in the entertainment industry. Our reflection considers who benefits when accusations fade into the background and how the structures that allow for the perpetuation of abuse remain largely intact. Is Combs simply a scapegoat, or is he emblematic of a more systemic problem?

As we draw to a close, we hope to spark critical discussions about accountability in the entertainment industry, the responsibilities of bystanders, and the imperative of giving voice to survivors. The revelations surrounding Combs bring forth questions that challenge our understanding of celebrity, morality, and justice in today’s world. This episode serves as both an indictment of Combs’ actions and a call to awareness for society at large, as we continue to grapple with these layered societal issues.

[0:00] Introduction to the Rant

[0:00] All right, good evening. This is just going to be a short and ranty session, and I confess to wild levels of immaturity and naivete. Oh, it burns. It burns. Like when you're pissing fishhooks after visiting that Thai brothel you've always been hesitant about. Come on, we've all been there. I haven't been there, but you know what I mean. So if you've been following the sean combs puff daddy p diddy whatever the ever-living frack i can get you up to speed i can get you roughly roughly up to speed, and this is our timeline okay sean diddy combs was arrested monday september 16th this be friday and charged with what the Justice Department called a years-long scheme to sexually abuse and exploit women, allegedly using his business empire to commit the crimes. Combs, 54, was arrested by federal agents, New York City Hotel, on an indictment charging him with racketeering, conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation for the purposes of prostitution.

[1:12] And he pleaded not guilty. This is months after several civil lawsuits that began in November 2023 1923 when Combs' one-time girlfriend, the singer Cassie, accused him of sexually and physically assaulting her during the relationship. Now, that's for sure. You know, a lot of allegations here, innocent until proven guilty, I get all of that. But that one's for sure because there's video, unless that's cunningly faked video or something like that. But man, it is something else. It is something else. Overview this is from the indictment for decades sean combs aka puff daddy p diddy diddy pd and love abused threatened and coerced women and others around him to fulfill his sexual desires protect his reputation and conceal his conduct to do so combs relied upon the employees resources and influence of the multi-faceted business empire he led and controlled creating a criminal enterprise whose members and associates engaged in and attempted to engage in among other things sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice.

[2:24] At all times relevant to this indictment, Combs, the defendant, engaged in a persistent and pervasive pattern of abuse towards women and other individuals. This abuse was at times verbal, emotional, physical, and sexual. As part of his pattern of abuse, Combs manipulated women to participate in highly orchestrated performances of sexual activity with male commercial sex Workers.

[2:50] Combs ensured participation for the women by, among other things, obtaining and distributing narcotics to them, controlling their careers, leveraging his financial support, and threatening to cut off same, and using intimidation and violence. Physical abuse by the defendant was recurrent and widely known. On numerous occasions, from at least in or about 2009 and continuing for years, Combs assaulted women by, among other things, striking, punching, dragging, throwing objects at them, and kicking them. These assaults were at times witnessed by others and included one instance at an LA hotel in or about March 2016, which was captured on video and later publicly reported, where Combs kicked, dragged, and threw a vase at a woman as she was attempting to leave. When a member of the hotel's security staff intervened, Combs attempted to bribe the staff member to ensure silence. Combs' violence was not limited to women. It extended to his employees, witnesses, to his abuse, and others. And it just goes on and on. We don't have to get into all of the details. A couple of interesting little things there to me. A couple of little interesting things there to me. Number one, 2009.

[4:05] Fifteen goddamn years. Oh, violent, misogynistic rapper guy. Can't imagine how that Thomas Sowell he ain't. 15 years! Now, I'm a nobody, obviously, in the rap and music circuit, but I'd heard the rumors years ago. I mean, didn't he rap quite consistently about harming people?

[4:32] Now, of course, he was a strong Democrat operative, signing up people, raising money, all that kind of stuff. So, to me, the question is always, and I don't know if we'll ever get an answer to it, the question is, why now? Why now? I mean, clearly, the evidence had been around for a long time. The rumors had been around for a long time. You've got guys as far back as 2018 and even before saying, oh, yeah, this is crazy stuff going on at these, They're called freakouts, these parties, where apparently, like Epstein, everything was videoed, everything was audio, recordings, and everything. Why? Well, isn't that just for blackmail? I don't know. I don't know if that's going to be found out or not. But why now? Why 15 years now? Why now? Well, maybe stuff came out in the civil suits, maybe whatever, right? But why now? I don't know. My guess would be he probably tried to blackmail the wrong person who pulled the plug on him.

[5:38] But I shouldn't be shocked. I shouldn't be appalled. I shouldn't be surprised. Yet I suppose I retain enough starry-eyed innocence, Innocence, Pollyanna-ish innocence, to still be a little shocked and appalled. I mean, I reported on Ed Buck, of all people, and this should not be a massive shock. Yet it bothers me at a very foundational level. It bothers me at a very foundational level. There's a couple of things that bother me about it. One is, I'm not sure I'm seeing a lot of feminists up in arms. You know, they were up in arms about E. Jean Carroll's accusations against Trump.

[6:34] And you just couldn't flip on the TV without seeing that wall-to-wall coverage. They seem to be kind of quiet about this one. So that's interesting, is feminism about the care of women. I mean, according to some of the reports, again, it's not proved in a court of law. They're just allegations. But from some of the stuff I read, at these parties, there would be these non-consensual sexual encounters that would go on for a long time. People would end up dehydrated and there were IVs brought in to rehydrate them so they could continue. Like, if true, if true, that's a layer of hell that's almost impossible to conceive of, right?

[7:26] That's a layer of hell. that is almost impossible to conceive of. What I suppose is bothering me, and I don't want to make this about me, but I'm just going to be honest about what I feel, what I think. What bothers me is this guy, he's 54 or something like that, So for decades, he's been perfectly welcome in society, been lauded, feted, he's on talk shows, working with Democrats, he's on red carpets, he's friends or companions or buddies with some of the top people in society.

[8:21] Society. Compare and contrast that to little old me. How welcome am I out there in the public's square and the public's fear? This guy described, I watched an Australian expose on him, described by a woman who knew him well as a monster, a literal monster. And he's totally welcome, free to move about, be on shows, be feted, praised, make tens of millions of dollars, or however many millions he's made. He is absolutely nestled in the warm, spiky, bosomy embrace of society for decades and decades and decades. While I, not so much now, but I remember when I was in Australia, Earlier, every time I was in public, I had security and had to look over my shoulder.

[9:20] All these people who claim to be moralists, oh, they just know so much about good and evil, right and wrong. They know everything there is to know about what's good and evil, right and wrong in this world, and this guy's a bigot, and this guy's a racist, and this... They just fling these ad hominems everywhere, all over the place, all the time.

[9:46] And everyone who knew this guy in more than a sort of passing selfie at a party manner everyone who knew this guy or met with him more than a couple of times or who was involved with him in any way shape or form, who has made moral claims, must, I assume, if these allegations are proven to be true, needs to shut the living fuck up about moral judgments from now until Jesus returns on a magic carpet. Shut the fuck up about your moral judgments. If you couldn't spot this guy, if you couldn't sniff the stench coming off this guy, if these These allegations proved to be true, and at least one of them is on video, and I'm going to accept that. He apologized for it, so that's a fact. The fact that he dragged and beat his girlfriend. So everybody who hung with this, like the Epstein thing, like everybody who hung with this guy, praised him, embraced him, invited him, needs to shut the fuck up about moral judgments from here to everlasting kingdom come.

[11:02] But it won't happen. Nobody who hung with the guy is going to face any negative repercussions. I assume that the echoes and ripple effect of this won't reach anyone. Maybe he'll be Epstein'd in prison. I doubt it.

[11:18] The Depth of Combs' Allegations

[11:18] That would just seem a little too obvious, but oh my God.

[11:31] Everybody knows that I'm a bad guy, apparently, but nobody knew that this guy was a bad guy, if this stuff turns out to be true.

[11:46] And this is, you know, Gabriel, blow your trumpets kind of territory. story. How deep and wide does this all go? Who knew? When did they know? How far is this going to go? Is the DOJ or the prosecution genuinely intent on unraveling this to the edges of their ability? And what is going to happen to all of the seized evidence? Well, I mean, I followed this back in the Epstein days, what is going to happen to all of the seized evidence? Where is that going to go? What's going to happen to that? How many rancid, God-forsaken crimes, are on those decades, I assume, decades worth of videos? How long is it going to take to go through them? Who is identifiable? Where's it gonna go I mean we all know Ghislaine Maxwell is in prison for trafficking, children to apparently nowhere and isn't Ashton Kutcher really big into the anti-human trafficking stuff which is great but, I don't know.

[13:11] If the public accepted Diddy, it's a compliment that it rejected you, in my opinion. Yeah. Do you agree with John Adams saying luxury leads to decadence? No, statism leads to decadence. Luxury is fine. Luxury leads to thought. Statism leads to decadence. And then wasn't it the case that the entire board of the 23andme corporation linked to Susan Wojcicki from YouTube all resigned all resigned one or two music executives all resigned.

[14:00] Questions of Accountability

[14:00] Mind well okay am i am i overly cynical i feel both wildly polyamorous and overly cynical the polyanimous side is like so all of these people who claim to be such potent and powerful moralists in the world didn't seem to know shit about all the evils going on uh allegedly under this guy's roof and one of them is not allegedly him dragging and beating hell out of his girlfriend, he's welcome on what did he go on Ellen he went on various talk shows he's on the red carpet, Scorsese flashbulbs going off all over the place welcome everywhere, hmm.

[15:05] You know, the world is not making a great case, as it stands, that it is worth saving. The world is not making much of a compelling case at the moment that it's worth putting your neck on the line to try to save.

[15:31] How many female musicians, and maybe I've missed them, and I obviously don't want to be unjust. I'm just going from what I've seen, which is obviously not omniscient. But where are the feminists? Where are the female musicians? Where are all the people who railed against people like Trump? With this. With this. I probably am. All right. So the singer cassie combs former romantic partner shocked many in november when she filed a civil suit against combs alleging that the music mogul sexually and physically abused her during the course of their relationship in the suit cassie alleged that combs raped her beat her in fits of uncontrollable rage and exerted a tight hold over her life, she alleged that she was he would force her to engage in sex acts he called freak offs, with other men often sex workers whom he'd pay to travel with them while he watched The abuse ranged from 2007, 17 years ago, until Cassie left him in late 2018. The suit said Combs vehemently denied the allegations from Cassie. They settled the suit a day after it was filed.

[16:50] Joy Dickerson, Neal, said that Cassie's lawsuit inspired her to come forward and file a suit against Combs on November 23rd, a day before the Adult Survivors Act was set to expire. Dickerson Neal said that Combs drugged her, sexually assaulted her, and recorded the assault without her knowledge while she was a student in 1991. She agreed to have dinner with Combs on Jan 3, 1991, in Harlem, while on winter break from Syracuse University, according to her suit. Again, this is all denied. Thank you for watching. Not proven in a court of law. Not proven in a court of law. Right? I don't want to engage in character assassination. Certainly the beating was captured on video and Combs apologized for it. Oh, I assume that the rap mogul guys as a whole, are not paragons of virtue, to put it mildly. Not paragons of virtue, to put it mildly.

[18:11] This selective outrage, normally I can handle it. I can just kind of roll with it. But this selective outrage is just appalling. It's just appalling. Now, do you think I'm overly cynical? Do you guys think this suit is going to go anywhere?

[18:33] Do you think they're going to get to all of the places this leads to, including up to his agents and whoever's, quote, in charge of him?

[18:54] The music mogul was also recently hit with a $100 million default judgment on September 9th over an alleged sexual assault from a 1997 party against Derek Lee Cardello-Smith. Lenawee County Circuit Court Judge granted the award to Cardello-Smith, an inmate who filed the lawsuit against Combs accusing him of drugging and sexually assaulting him at a party 30 years ago. Combs has denied all these allegations Yeah, May 17th, surveillance footage captured at a hotel in Los Angeles in March 2016 showed Diddy chasing his then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura down the hallway before attacking her by the elevators. He then attempts to drag her back to his hotel room the following day. He shared an apology video to Instagram saying his behavior was inexcusable. This is eight years ago.

[19:46] Eight years ago. The slew of allegations in lawsuits against Combs date as far back to the 1990s. His record label is called Bad Boy Records. Eight years ago.

[20:06] Combs' Reputation Post-Violence

[20:06] On video, beating and dragging his girlfriend, which he admitted to and apologized for.

[20:30] So, some of it is true, at least this part of it is true. And what happened to him after this violence against his girlfriend in 2016, eight years ago? What happened to him and his reputation was he still welcome was he still fated was he still oh you can absolutely come to the red carpet you can absolutely be welcome in these political events you can absolutely be welcome at these awards shows what happens.

[21:19] Video killed the radio star yeah, If somebody says, I would argue, oh, Karis, yeah, I would argue you're not cynical enough. I highly recommend reading One Nation Under Blackmail, Volume 1 and 2 by Whitney Webb. That's two Bs, right? Whitney Webb, two Bs. Yeah. Maybe I will. Maybe I will. I don't think that much functions independent of that stuff these days.

[21:49] I really don't. But I feel this sort of hairball of revulsion just against the world that it is, just sort of this hairball of revulsion about these absolutely wild and absolutely mental double standards. That this guy, after he's apologizing for being on video beating the hell out of his girlfriend, is still welcomed everywhere. And I'm happily married, a great dad, good friend, truth teller. Nobody has ever accused me of saying things that are false. It's just offensive. He's welcome, and I'm cast to the outer darkness. He's welcome and i'm cast to the end it almost feels inevitable i mean i get that i mean the last thing as you pointed out the last thing that you'd want to be is accepted by a society's power structure that operates in this kind of environment but oh god it's so vile it's all just so vile. All of these people hungry for money and power and fame and promotion.

[23:09] Go to these parties, which are hell on earth. Do unspeakable things. Maybe they're drugged. I mean, Diddy is on video saying that this is what happens to white people at Diddy parties, and it's some guy, I don't know, who looks half dead on a couch, not moving. Now maybe he drank himself I don't know.

[23:46] The Dark World of Fame

[23:47] But this is what people are drawn to, this is what people surrender their souls for and it's hard not to think of you know horned big guy with shadowy wings behind all of this like a puppet master making it all work, I mean, according to reports, Diddy would threaten to destroy people's career and harm them and...

[24:28] From NBC News, and this was March 4th, A music producer who is suing Sean Diddy Combs is doubling down on allegations that Combs and his son were involved in a shooting at the Los Angeles Recording Studio in 2022. The initial complaint filed in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. Jones also detailed a shooting at a writers and producers camp at Shelley's Recording Studio in L.A. on September 12, 2022. The original complaint includes Jones' account that he heard multiple gunshots after a heated conversation in a nearby bathroom. When the bathroom door opened, Combs and his son walked out, and Jones found G, quote, lying on the restroom floor in a fetal position, holding his stomach and bleeding out of his leg hip area, the lawsuit said. And this is who was held up, and this is who was welcomed, and this is who was feted, and this is who was photographed, and this is who is rewarded, and this is who is on talk shows, and this is who is friends with the rich and powerful. This is the world in which we live.

[25:57] And it feels like this is an either-or situation, right? Either you get guys like this, or you get guys like me. I don't know that there's something in between, or something else, or another third rail, or a third option, or a third path. I think it's like you get guys like this, or you get guys like me. And society wants guys like this and does not want guys like me. I don't know how that's fixable. I don't know how that's fixable. I don't know how that gets resolved. Or, I'm afraid I do, in a sense, know how that gets resolved. But it's not good.

[27:06] Society's Disturbing Choices

[27:07] Let me see if I had anything else saved about all of this. Thanks for watching!

[27:23] Hmm.

[27:36] Yeah, and go look up how old Mila Kunis was when Ashton Kutcher first kissed her. Just go look that up. There's a whole list of Taylor Swift songs that talk about murder, death, wanting someone dead, or getting revenge. Nobody, No Crime, Ronan, Carolina, The Tortured Poets Department, My Tears Ricochet, Death by a Thousand Cuts, This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things, Vigilante Shit, Look What You Made Me Do, Better Than Revenge, Karma, I Forgot That You Existed, Bad Blood, Thank You, Amy, Holmy, Who's Afraid of Little Old Me? And that's Billy Eilish this is who are programming the kids.

[28:46] Crazy stuff. There's a woman on X worth following, Karen Mitchell, Dr. Karen Mitchell, PhD. And she says, and this I was a little surprised at, but I mean, she is quite an expert in this area. She says, please can we remember that about 10 to 15% of the population are sadistic, manipulative, dangerous, supremely self-focused, narcissists slash psychopaths, and not everyone deserves our compassion. Those of us who are caring empaths would be a lot stronger if we accepted and embraced this fact. 10 to 15%. Does that accord with your guys' thoughts or experience? Yeah, whatever happened to Justin Bieber in this community is probably pretty horrendous.

[29:56] You think it's too low? I thought a couple of percent, maybe 5% or something like that, but again, she's a well-read A well-read and good researcher. And that's what she says. 10 to 15% of the population. That's not good. That's really, really not good.

[30:42] The Psychology of Narcissism

[30:43] So yeah i just i just wanted to jump in tonight and talk about this yeah what's the what's the name karen mitchell underbar is that two underbars, yeah at karen mitchell two underbars, and she says this account is based on over a thousand years of cumulative experience with narcissistic psychopaths narcissists, psychopaths coercive controllers toxic leaders dark personalities or predators and their victims and yeah she's a, very courageous person.

[31:34] Yeah, Hugh Edwards walks out of prison. Oh, walks out of court. Crazy. What percentage do you think are NPCs? Well, that's an interesting question. Because I don't really move in those circles anymore, and because I'm in more sort of focused social media, I don't deal with that stuff that much anymore. More but percentage of i would certainly say the 30 to 40 percent of people with no inner dialogue are probably close to npcs as a whole i mean my gut says 80 npcs if this woman's right 15 cruel people and five percent rational thinkers we are a persecuted minority minority. We are a persecuted minority. Yeah.

[32:42] I mean, I do occasionally move through normie universe, particularly in the realm of sports and so on. But trying to find a love for humanity as as a whole can be a smidge of a challenge at times, right? I love humanity in the abstract. I just have to avoid most of the average people that I meet. I have to avoid evaluating them to enjoy my love of humanity in the abstract. I mean, I'm not alone in that. That's sort of an old problem for moralists. All right. Any other thoughts or questions? I just wanted to get that off my chest. About seeing this guy cruising through society like a shark, being fated and hugged and photographed and invited and chatted with and nobody brings up anything negative. I mean, people have to make up negative stuff about me. This guy has stuff on video and people completely ignore it.

[33:42] Oh. Comes back to you, you're going to get what you deserve. serve. Gonna get served. All right, just wait for a second if you have any tips. More than welcome, of course. But that was my thoughts about this. All right, well, I will close off here. I really thank you guys for dropping by tonight. Of course, we'll do our regular show tomorrow night, but I I just wanted to get this off my chest.

[34:14] Diddy: Fall Guy or Scapegoat?

[34:14] I've got this slightly vomity hairball of horrendous indignation that I just wanted to share. What if Diddy is just a fall guy? I mean, is he the tip of the iceberg? Is he even the center of the spokes? I don't know.

[34:35] Yeah, so because the cruel people are so energetic and virulent, the NPCs fall in line with the cruel people against the rational thinkers. Why do you think Socrates cursed society? Do you think he realized a lot were NPCs? Yeah. Yeah. And getting somebody with a long habit of not thinking to try to think is like trying to unboil an egg. It doesn't really work. It doesn't really work. After a certain amount of not thinking, you have no muscle left to think with. A certain amount of avoidance of reason strips of you the capacity to reason. So, we'll see. We'll see what goes down with this, but I don't think it's going to go very far. I think it should go really far. I think hundreds of people should probably be charged. But I don't think it's going to go far. You know, people have a pretty good way to keep themselves safe.

[35:50] People have a pretty good way to keep themselves safe from these kinds of things. Probably not really corrupt people's first rodeo, a first possibility of exposure. And I kind of think it must be incredibly frustrating to be a cop working on this kind of stuff and just see it fade and fizzle away. Very tough. All right. Well, thanks, everyone. Have a great evening. We'll see you tomorrow night. I appreciate you dropping by tonight. Lots of love from here. And I'll be better by tomorrow. But, oh, man, it was a little rough tonight. Take care, everyone. Bye.
