An email I received from a female fan of Freedomain and philosophy...
Hello Stefan,
Thanks for your message, and for all that you do. I've set up and sent my first monthly donation over at SubscribeStar, and look forward to seeing what 2020 brings for you!
I am truly grateful for all of your hard work, and deeply appreciate how the wisdom you convey to your callers has you go positively impacted my life and my marriage. I have to admit, I bought the lies our culture sells young women. I attended college in the late 90s and stayed for a Master's degree in English. Of course, I had no idea how to monetize that degree, nor do I ever recall considering that question. I drifted into a passionless career, and I serially dated believing that 'you have to date a lot before you can find the right one.' I foolishly believed the lies that men desire more experienced women, and that women are having babies later and later - so travel! Date! You can have it all, and when you're ready, everything will be waiting for you…
Fast forward to today. I am 41 years old. Somehow, despite my youthful idiocy, I reconnected with a dear college friend who became my husband in 2012. We have been trying to start a family for six of our seven years of marriage, and this past year have turned to expensive fertility treatments which we hope will bring us a baby in 2020.
My husband was a subscriber to your show when I began to date him in 2010, and over the years I have watched your content with increasing frequency to the point where I watch your videos as they come out, and have seen most of your older ones, too. Your videos on how women can't have it all are painfully true, and something I deeply wish I had heard when I was in my teens and early twenties. I feel like I have been redeemed through my marriage from a lonely, dead-end future, and I try every day to bring value to my husband by being an affectionate and respectful wife, who cooking him healthy meals, keeping a balanced family budget and a tidy, cozy home, and striving diligently to provide him with children. He in turn is a wonderful, protective man of integrity and faith. I am truly blessed.
I try to pay it forward and bring up these topics with young people, especially young women, every opportunity I get. I share your videos and relate my own regrets for getting started so late. I find so much happiness in being a wife, and hopefully soon a mother that I only wish my husband and I had married in our twenties and could have had another decade of marriage. Hopefully we'll live to be old!
So thank you very much for your efforts, for asking the difficult questions, and not being defeated by those whose agenda is to destroy us all. As my husband often says, "If you're taking flak, you're over the target." So please keep it up! My very best wishes to you and your family for a blessed and prosperous year in 2020!
